The Most Haunted and Mysterious Places in Britain (Readers Digest)
RRP: £19.99 Our Price: £8.40 (subject to change) ReviewsA useful Guide Review date: 2009-11-30 Rating: 8 out of 10 This book is a reference for supernatural activity in Britain, concentrating mainly on ghosts, though UFOs, faries and vampires get a mention too. It is handily divided up into different geographical areas. Each section begins with a map of mysterious sites. These are numbered to correlate to the text. Photographs or illustrations are on every two or three pages. These contribute to a sense of mystery. The text covers most of the main sites in Britain, but the breadth of this book means not every place gets a mention - Edinburgh particularly could have done with more attention. The text itself is quite sparse, though each section carries a feature of a site that is looked into more indepth. Overall, this book is a good reference for anyone travelling around Britain or just on a day-trip or weekend away. However, more dedicated fans of the supernatural may wish to do some extra research when they have decided where to visit.
